Online grocery shopping continues to gain market share, accounting for a record 20.9% of total U.S. grocery spending during the third quarter of 2026, according to new research from Brick Meets Click.
Online grocery sales increased 20.7% compared with the same period in 2025, marking the eighth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth exceeding 20%.
The continued growth of online grocery shopping reflects changing consumer preferences for convenience and reinforces the importance of pickup, delivery and digital ordering capabilities for supermarket operators.
